KLAUS ELLERHUSEN HOLM - KETIL GUTVIK duo
About the music: Since 2003 these two personal and energic musicians have worked out their own facinating duo concept. The music is quite sound-based, influenced both by English Improvisers like Evan Parker and Derek Bailey and Americans like Anthony Braxton and Eric Dolphy. But the music also contains melodic passages and odd grooves, this alltogether is mixed into their own personal expression.
Background:
Ketil Gutvik - guitar; one of Norways leadig performers and promotors of Improvised music since the mid nineties. He has participated in many critically acclaimed groups with many of Norway's top improvisers, and is currently leading his own group ”Ketil Gutvik FEM” wich will appear at the Kongsberg Jazzfestival this summer.
Klaus Ellerhusen Holm - alto & baritone sax; is a young new voice on the Norwegian music scene. He won the "Nordic Young Jazz Comets"-contest in 2003 with his trio, "Roundtrip", now reinforced by Swedish vibraphone player Mathias Ståhl. Is a part of bassist Ingebrigt Flatens new quartet, and is also collaborating with some of top improvisers in Norway and Sweden.
